One can never state with certainty when a great cataclysm will befall us, but when we don't totally consider the ramifications of our discoveries, and uses of them, we may bring on our own destruction. Some interpret things religiously, some scientifically, others a combination, but if people don't learn from history, they are doomed to repeat it.

Cosmic events happen though as that comet hitting Jupiter proved. It CAN happen. And some scientists say that ALL those craters on the moon and other celestial bodies might have happened in one huge meteor shower. Our weather on this planet just erased ours.
I'm not saying it WILL happen, but that anything CAN happen.

PN, we aren't debating that the end is near and worrying about it. Just contemplating how our species was created, with all the crazy possibilities. Even if the world is coming to an end, I don't want to know exactly when.

I've never really thought too hard about the whole "How we were created." subject, but of course anything is possible.

I kind of agree with the point of being made by a previous race, maybe they were dying out and they needed to replenish.
