What is worse, in my opinion, is writing something off as conspiracy theory without any basis other than a personal opinion about how you perceive the world to be and what is possible.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

That's true but many conspiracy theories are so out of wack that they really are just good for a laugh. For example, David Icke's whole conspiracy theory of a special shape-shifting reptilian/alien race/bloodline that has been ruling Earth and conducting it's happenings throughout all of human history.

Some are just completey rediculous, and really have no backing to them whatsoever. But like you said, at least look into most of them to see if they actually have some kind of evidence backing its hypothesis. Some have more than others, but virtually all have the same things in common; that is there really is no evidence that really calls to the attention of people that there is surely almost 100% something wrong with the "official story".

I mean, people can go on and on about the satanic and Illuminati symbols evident in our society, but that doesn't support a hypothesis that it is some higher secret society of all the leaders in the world and somehow conduct the happenings in human history.

But then again if it had some kind of evidence that really points into the direction of something greater and of higher conspiracy then of coarse it wouldn't be a conspiracy theory, but rather conspiracy probability. What really sets much of the 9/11 movement apart from all the rediculous conspiracy theories is that they are backed with a hudge pool of evidence, and the complete inconsistency and falsehood of the "official story".

That's what makes it really stand out from the rest, and you can really spot now what is actually conspiracy theory and what is actually catching onto something. Its just that much of the 9/11 stuff out there is so easy to dissmiss as conspiracy theory, and moot, by the general population because of the haziness of other conspiracies, and the pundits of the administration complain about other rediculous conspiracy theories and equate the 9/11 movement with those crazies.

What we have here is not a conspiracy theory when it comes to 9/11. The people who are talking about how the "evil satanists", or "reptilians shapeshifters", or "evil death-ploting Illuminati" knocked down the towers; now they are conspiracy theorists.

With all those truly crazy paranoid conspiracy theories out there, my question to you guys would be; would you know the truth if you saw it? I mean, what if what people are saying about 9/11 is really true, and the U.S. government had something to do with it (be it foreknowlege or total involvement)? It would be simply shoved off as a conspiracy theory!

I think its part because people don't like the idea of their own government committing attrocities, and think somehow America is an infinite source of good as the "right-arm of God" and somehow such attrocities could never happen in American politics. Of but of coarse you always hear everyone saying "of coarse tyranny will come to our country eventually", but they never want to investigate if it actually is coming to our country currently. If you're always ignorant and unwilling to investigate, and continue to blindly believe the government in your lifetime is all good and Christian; then tyranny is inevitable, and it will be impossible to catch and stop.

I have read about the Icke reptilian thing, and yea I have a hard time with it naturally.

But there are so many things that get lumped into the whole "conspiracy theory" thing just because people don't want to deal with the issue as possible truth (like the 9/11 thing). To me the official explanations have sounded more like a conspiracy then the so called conspiracies themselves.

The government had something to do with 9/11, and it's well documented.

They supported the Mujahadeen, who became the Taliban and Al Qaeda, because the Mujahadeen were fighting the Soviets.

The US government trained them, funded them, and gave them weapons.

The US government did NOT drive the plane into the towers. It just helped create conditions condusive to such an action, and that's no conspiracy.

This is still very much up to debate because of the mounting evidence that speaks to the contrary.
